About Reno Volunteer Fire Department

Our History: Established in 1958, the Reno Volunteer Fire Department has been a cornerstone of community safety and service in Reno, Ohio for over six decades. Our founding members set out with a mission to protect and serve the local community, a commitment that remains the driving force behind all our endeavors. Over the years, Reno VFD has evolved, embracing advancements in fire safety technology and techniques, while always staying true to the spirit of volunteerism and community service.

Our Services: Today, the Reno Volunteer Fire Department stands as a beacon of dedication and resilience, staffed by a team of highly trained and committed individuals. Led by Chief Jon Bradford, our department includes dedicated officers such as Deputy Chief Todd Meeks and Assistant Chiefs Rick Butler and Ted Patterson, with Ted Patterson also serving as our Chaplain. Our administrative and operational teams comprise President Jeremy Patterson, Vice President Colton Taylor, Treasurer Brice Brightbill, Quartermasters Mike Dietsch and Stefan Haines, Operating Engineer Mike Lee, Board Members Chad Steed and Mike Hill, Fire Prevention Officer Darin Montgomery and Secretary Tom Sherman.

At Reno VFD, we provide a comprehensive range of emergency services, including fire suppression, advanced life support, and emergency medical services. Our team is equipped and trained to handle various types of emergencies, from residential fires to natural disasters. In addition to emergency response, we are deeply involved in community outreach and education, offering fire safety training, CPR classes, and public information sessions to enhance community preparedness.

Our Community Engagement: Beyond emergency services, Reno VFD is an active participant in local community events. Our annual events, like the much-loved ice cream social, foster a strong sense of community and provide an opportunity for residents to meet and engage with their local firefighters. We also maintain an active presence on social media, particularly through our Reno VFD Facebook page, where we share updates, safety tips, and event information.

As we continue to serve and protect our community, the Reno Volunteer Fire Department remains committed to upholding the values of service, integrity, and excellence. We encourage community members to reach out to us at contact@renovfd.com for any inquiries or visit our Facebook page for the latest updates and information.
